Why do people make so much fun of "scene", "emo", and "goth" people?

I think it is because they go against everything that is natural and looks good at first sight. This went in and out with "New Wave" years and years ago. Sometimes it seems like they are dressing just to see if they can irritate and get a reaction out of everybody. Its like they are just rebeling....against their parents against the world!
