Was it selfish of comedian Greg Giraldo's family not to allow fans to know about or attend his funeral?

Information about actor Tony Curtis' funeral was available online. Not a word about the funeral arrangements for Greg Giraldo...just a PO box to send money for his 3 kids. I guess comedians don't make a lot of money. I wonder if the family did not want to have to deal with the public who might ask questions about the mysterious "overdose" that eventually killed him. He was one funny guy, no question about it. I am sure he had many adoring fans all over the world. Some may have wanted to pay their "respects."
