Name of a Christmas movie about Santa Claus?

Ok, there was this christmas movie that i used to watch as a kid (not one of those clay figure ones, a little more recent). it was about like santa claus gets adopted by like fairies or something and then defeats i believe giants to save this town then somehow becomes santa in that process. it was pretty fruity but i kinda want to watch it again
