Might this be a good career move?

If the benefit outweighs the cost, I say go for the greeter/receptionist position--and no, this is no longer a woman's job. This will enable you more time to develop and focus on your portfolio instead of, say, being a "slave" to a company that not only don't even offer/contribute to employee benefits but using them for their skills. If this new position enable you to live comfortably as the previous, then by all means go for it. Good luck.
