Join military after seizure?

A while back I found myself with an alcohol problem & a symtom of withdraw is a siezure. So I asked 1 recruiter if a siezure disqualifies me and he said yes without hearing my story so I'm thinking he thought I had epilepsy (w different things). Well, since my siezure there was only 1 answer to not have a siezure & that was to quit drinking...or just die. I'm sober & going strong. So was this recruiter correct that I can't join even thou technically it was chem. induced & not hereditary or really, ever going to happen again?
