Any mechanics out there?

If you still have the old gas cap I'd try it before you get to involved. Fix the clasp on the air cleaner and reset the engine check light. I changed my fuel cap on a 1997 Chevy Silverado and ended up with almost the same problem. It cost me over a hundred just to figure out that it was the fuel cap. Hope this helps you some.
